Why is marketing your business important?

Do you find marketing your business overwhelming? then this is for you…

Whatever you do, your website is (or should be) a key part of your sales process but I know that sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming trying to get customers there.
⠀
So here are 6 tips for writing marketing copy that gets results…⠀

1. Know who you’re trying to reach

I have done this exercise (Customer Avatar) many times over the years and it really helps me when I’m writing marketing copy to know exactly who I’m talking to. if you need help on how to create one, here are some questions that will help you:

Identify their Goals and Values.
Find their Sources of Information.
Fill in their Demographic Info (and NAME them)
Identify Challenges & Pain Points.
List out their Objections & Role in the Purchase Process.

2. Great Headersliners

The best headlines compel consumers to keep reading or clicking through to your site.

Here are some great examples:

✅ How To Potty Train Your Puppy In Only 3 Days
✅ How To Get A-List Copy Without The Massive Price Tag

Some of the rationales that you can include in your headlines are:

3. Show them that you understand THEIR pain/problems, by asking questions

Pain points are persistent problems with a product or service that can inconvenience customers and their businesses. Here are some examples:

✅ Is keeping up with your accounting becoming more complicated and time-consuming?
✅ Are you struggling to sleep at night?
✅ Is your website not getting the traffic you were expecting?
✅ Is posting across all of our social media channels is really tedious?
✅ Do you find it hard to keep weight off?

4. Promote a success story/ case study from one of your clients

Social proof is one of the best ways to get the consumer to book an appointment with you or buy your product.

88% of people say they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations

If they read the stories of how you got results for someone else, they are far more likely to trust that your services or product will work for them too.

In order to get more success stories, I recommend that you include a questionnaire in your off boarding process. Not only will you learn how to make your service or product better but you will also gain content that will help your marketing be more impactful.

Here are some questions you can ask:

What made our product or service stand out from other options?
What made you happiest about working with me?
What have you been able to achieve since using my service?
What’s the main reason you recommend our product or service?
What are three benefits you’ve experienced as a result of buying my service?
What would you tell someone who’s considering building a website with me?
Was there anything we could have done differently?

5. Include a compelling call to action

Writing the perfect call to action often makes or breaks your marketing campaign. It’s one of those elements that will directly impact your conversion rates.

Don’t assume that your consumer knows how to purchase your product or service. Tell them.
