I love Rome! and I don’t know many people that have had a bad experience when traveling to Rome! The people, the food and the architectual history is fab!
There are so many places of interest, it’s really hard to pick which one to visit first! When you visit the big attractions there’s usually a very long queue depending on what time of year you go, I visited in May which meant this was an issue. Luckily we had some great advice before we left, which I’m going to pass on to you. If you want to skip the queue, pay an extra €10.00 and join the group tours. Not only will you get in straight away but you will actually learn about the history and the stories behind them.
When I went, we had 2 amazing tour guides who were informative and fun. But make sure that you wear comfortable shoes because the tours usually last around 4 hours.
Now the food is Italy is nearly always tip top! And there are a few Michelin Star restaurants with views to die for but to be honest unless you book 3 months in advance you have a slim chance of getting a table so if this is something you want to add to your bucket list, make sure you research and book in advance. When I visited Rome my favorite spot to have dinner was the restaurants surrounding the Pantheon, not only is the view outstanding but the food is superb and the waiters are fun fun fun!
We averaged 15000 steps on a daily basis and that was even with the aid of the Hop-on, Hop-off Bus tour to help us get across town. You can usually get a cheaper rate for these tickets if you book in advance or purchase them from your hotel reception.
I hope that you have found this small read about Rome interesting.
